About the database
Content
The database Thunberg's Japanese Plants contains records and high resolution images (1200 dpi) of all Japanese specimens in Carl Peter Thunberg's herbarium in Uppsala, Sweden (830 specimens), and one specimen which was presented to the Emperor of Japan in 2007 and is now kept at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Tsukuba, Japan.
All notes have been transcribed and interpreted when possible. Type specimens have references to protologues with links to full text publications.
Standardisation
Taxon names and authors follow the standard of the International Plant Names Index.
Family names of angiosperms follow the APGIII system.
